Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz

The rap duo of Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz first emerged from the Bronx under the name the Gunrunners; additionally, both enjoyed concurrent solo careers, with Gunz signing to Shaquille O'neal's T.W.is.M. label and Tariq -- also a member of the Money Boss Players -- appearing on tracks by the Notorious B.i.g., Jay-z, Nas, and Mobb Deep. Upon forming their own label, the Columbia subsidiary Codeine, Tariq and Gunz debuted in 1998 with the LP Make It Reign, which launched the smash party anthem "Deja Vu (Uptown Baby)." ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
