Watch out for this guy!

This violent sex offender is now living in a Vancouver halfway house after being released from a federal prison.

 The VPD say Richard Hector Major poses a risk to children, and elderly women.

Major has an extensive criminal record dating back to 1991, when he sexual assaulted and beat an elderly woman at knifepoint.

In 2002, he attempted to abduct a woman during a carjacking, and in 2006 he was convicted of breaching his peace bond.

Major is being monitored by the Vancouver Police Department High Risk Offender Unit. The VPD says Major hasn't participated in any sex offender treatment programs and there is a high risk he'll reoffend
