BLAZIN' SOCCER DOGS
On the morning after the Canucks were bounced from the playoffs and the weekend weather looks crappy, here's a story that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Last fall, there was story that just leapt out at us and moved many people. It was the story of Sadie Gates - the young girl with down's syndrome who wanted to play soccer. Her soccer coach told her mom that while Sadie was welcome to practice with the team, he felt she'd be a liability on game day.
Sadie's mom, Abbe Gates, was back on the show Friday morning to announce that she and a group of volunteers have started a soccer team for special needs kids called the Blazin' Soccer Dogs. Their season begins Saturday morning - for more information on the team and their plans, CLICK HERE for the official website of the Blazin' Soccer Dogs.
