Kween Kash

Kashana Green, better known as Kween Kash, was born to Trinidadian parents in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. She knew she wanted to be involved with music at a young age and, later on, as a college radio DJ, she honed her skills by freestyling with her guests. Though predominantly a rapper, she skillfully incorporates reggae and soca and sounds at home in any of these settings, reflecting her love for the likes of Lauryn Hill, Lady Saw, and The Notorious B.i.g. Her first album, Pure Fire, was set to be released independently on the Hot Wax label during spring 2007. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
