    - The Opening Ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics may be on Friday, but competition started today -and Canada won!

    - Ultimate is not in the Olympics (yet) but the World Ultimate Championships are out at UBC this week.

    - Christina Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer last week.  She's only 36, but caught the disease early enough to have a great chance at kicking it.  If you have time for a coffee break, you have time to get screened.  The BC Cancer Agency's mobile screener will be outside Pacific Centre today.
